2009’s Best Small Stakes Grinders
By Sean Gibson - December 3rd, 2009
Thanks to our hand history tracking efforts here at Poker Table Ratings, we
’ve been able to keep tabs on all the cash game grinders throughout 2009.
As we saw even without the benefit of such tools in the past, many of the
game’s successful mid-stakes and high-stakes pros started out by grinding
the small stakes games. It’s very rare to hear a story in this industry
about a player that just magically showed up at the mid-stak

for pobolero:
$100,000 for 727,000 hands.
assume 2 minutes per hand on average
727,000 x 2 / 60 / 8 = 3019 天 (if he only play 1 hand at a time)
assume he play 10 hands at a time (not many ppl can do that), he need 302
day / year, it's a full time job and you can not 灌水 while you are working.

your calc may be off, it takes less than 2 mins/hand, even on average.
i play max 4 tables, about 3-4 hours/day, even i log about:
1) 600+ cash game hands
2) 400+ tourney hands
so even i could play 200-300K hands/year.

working.

let's say 1 min per hand
727,000 x 1/ 60 / 8 ~~ 1500 天 (if he only play 1 hand at a time)
it takes lots of efforts, still.
so my point is, poker is just for fun or some short time excitement, it's definitely not a way to make a living for most of people.

poker pro, is definitely not a job that common folks want to take.
in addition, there is always risk involved, not like a 9~5 daily job.

well, he should have a decent rakeback/bonus too with that huge number of
hands, and the total could be well over $100K.
yes, i totally agree, it's a very time/energy consuming "job" as a small
stake grinder.
Bertrand Grospellier, "elky", a high stake pro player.

at one time, he only slept 15 minutes every 4 hours to "maximize" his profit
, after a few weeks, he gave up...
considering only 7-8% players are long-term winners online, it makes it ev

haha, if the robot can be self learning and very adaptive... i'll load it
with 100K hands from each pro first, lol, then just let it run 24 hours a
day, no break!
it doesn't need to be a big pot winner, just beat that 5bb/100 hands number,
i'll be rich.

i really admire those guys who play 10+ tables at the same time (let alone 6
-max), damn, minus mouse moving/clicking time, we're talking about making
decisions in like 0.x seconds, AND, play for long sessions.

well since they can play more than milliones hands per year, their
experience will grow up very fast. So if they work hard enough to build up a
solid TAG game in mid/low limit and review their seccion from time to time,
they can auto-polit most of the situationes. From another hand they never
move to high limit game and good players at their level will, therefore they
can play with a wide player pool with relative lower skill. and of course
they have great tools help them to do that (tableninja
