I continued my hot run since the beginning of last December. January has
become my best month since I started poker. Overall profit $4.4k including
rake back and bonuses. The year end bonus and the holiday bonus definitely
helped. But what please me the most is that I achieved this without playing
too many hands, 40k hand over all with close to 9bb/100 hand winrate. By 3
tabling rush, this is only around 40 hours invested. I am very happy with
my hourly rate.
On a side note as some of you might already know, I also was lucky enough to
join kungfu-poker as one of their coaches. Hopefully, being a member of an
elite group can encourage me to go up the ladder further. I also made 2
rush poker NL50 video for the site. First time to make a poker video, but it
was a fun process~~~ Cheers~~~~ |

我也跟着水：一月份第一次遭遇持续一个月的巨大downswing，将近20BI灰飞烟灭...去
年最后两个月的jesus run终于开始报应了...两个月的winning这一个月搭进去80%，靠
rb和bonus才勉强维持住...开始看各种video，终于能看懂并且理解一些概念了。2p2上
的challenge贴也坚持写下来了，为此还得到leakbuster的free training，恩...希望
自己的game能有进步，早日break even |

improving, even just to survive, lol.

access...
Dont understand why they moved the forum to other places. Looks to me that's
a huge disadvantages to promote their own site. If they have good content,
they should have their own forum. I hardly see any successful site which has
forum hosted in other sites...

good site, while branching a very valuable part to some other crappy site??
they need to get a lot of paid subscribers to keep the site profitable. i
don't know how many they got so far but my guess is it won't be that many.
even 120RMB is kind of expensive to small stake players from china. unless
you reach some bottleneck levels, say 50NL/100NL, a lot of players won't
realize or want to try videos (and, there're plenty free ones anyway, and
they don't even bother to look at).
to get more subscribers, they need more visitors and build their brand first
. e.g., if 5% visitors can eventually convert to subscribers, that'll be
great.
also, with more visitors, they generate more side profits from ads, rake
back sign-ups, etc, too.

different values. A.subscribed,B.registered not subscribed yet.C. visitors.
Value B and C could be huge even they dont directly pay money to site as
there are lots of potential opportunities
if you have people visiting your sites. By separating the forum with the
actual site, they give value B/C away and in turn impact the volume of A
users. only A users will go to actual site. just my 0.02$...

The new forum seems empty. Very few good post.
I made the video for NL50. Probably no use for you anyway. There are some
good videos on the site for sure. FCF's video is always useful if you want
to do HU. I have not really looked into any other videos yet.

发帖数: 15860 | 16 不了解他们的商业计划，不过觉得主要靠做内容(视频/教材)的网站很累，尤其是一定
程度上靠内容来赚钱的网站。需要很多人力财力维护，更新内容。很多网站，国内外都
是，非扑克或某专一定位内容型网站，最后都虎头蛇尾。
而论坛是半自动管理的功能，很能积聚人气，人气对于任何网站现在都太太太重要了。
论坛又有很强的粘性，一旦习惯，喜欢在某个论坛猫着灌水，不太容易挪地方，长期下
来可以聚集很多核心站友，自愿版主一类的人士，帮助组织管理网站，成本很低....形
成滚雪球良性循环。其实中文扑克的论坛虽然不多，但也确实有那么几家，说实话，都
做得不咋的，人气散散。功夫扑克既然已经有机会迈出一大步，却把这么好的建立自己
资源的一大功能转让出去，太可惜。
此外，扑克在中国虽然可能市场很大，但是实质上还是一个拿不上台面的黑活，因为毕
竟法律明文了是赌博，所以需要在一个更小的环境，用户群里面提高赢利的效率。俺个
人觉得他们和7win那么小的扑克网站合作，很不划算，登陆去7win看，是提供了一些人
民币存取款的便利，但是人气太低太弱，难成气候。既然做了，就应该定位和FTP/PS这
样的大站合作开发中文市场，而FTP/PS花那么多资源搞本地化版本，可能也很需要一个
强力的中文团队合作，不管是搞affiliate还是其他形式的利润分享，比卖120RMB的几
个视频要广阔得多。即使是适当打擦边球，比如代客转存款，提供VPN服务什么的，也
很有利可图。
广告也是，建立在大量人气基础上的，至少赚个网站维护钱。

as for kungfu-poker forum issue, dzpk8 gave us a very nice offer that we can
't refuse, so we decided to merge the forum section. In addition, our
server had a lot of problems for the forum part, it was getting to a point
of basically unusable, and the tech company is not very good, they can't
figure out what's the exact problem. We are moving to a new server, and
will hire a new tech person to upgrade/move the server out of the China.
Hopefully things will be a lot better once we moved to a new/faster server
and fix all the little bugs in the system. |
