Position: SB, BB, UTG, UTG+2, MP1, MP2/LJ, HJ, CO, BTN
SB: Small Blind (the smaller of the two forced/dark bets pre flop)
BB: Big Blind (the larger of the two forced/dark bets pre flop)
UTG: Under The Gun (comes from an English expression Under the Gun, First to
Act. Because the blinds are a forced bet, this position is the first
player to act pre flop when the two cards are dealt)
UTG+1: the position after UTG
MP1: Middle Position 1, goes after early position (UTG & UTG+1)
MP2: Middle Position 2, goes after MP1, sometimes called the lojack
HJ: Hijack, the position before the cutoff
CO: Cutoff, the position right before the button
BTN: Dealer button, the player who goes last every round
Playing: 2B, 3B, 4B, Cap, CC2, CR, B-F, B-C, etc.
2B: 2 bets, stands for a raise
3B: 3 bets, stands for a reraise
4B: 4 bets, stands for reraising a reraise
Cap: The maximum amount of bets a street allows, sometimes that's 4,
sometimes that's 5, depends on casino
CC2: Cold call 2, calling two bets
CR: Check raise, first check, and then after someone bet, you raise
B-F: Bet and then fold to a raise
B-C: Bet and then call a raise
Misc: EV, Iso, Straddle, Spew, Tilt, bb/hr, BB/hr, bb/100
EV: Expected Value - the expected gain/loss of a particular hand, math wise
Iso: Isolate, to raise or reraise to try to get a hand heads up versus a
weak player
Straddle: To put in two bets in pre flop without looking at your cards, rest
of rules depends on casino,
Spew: to bet chips recklessly, usually burning money
Tilt: to be off-balanced, angry, and generally playing bad
bb/hr: amount of big blinds per hour, refers to win rate in NL/PL format
games
BB/hr: amount of big bets per hour, refers to win rate in limit format games
bb/100: amount of big blinds per 100 hands, refers to win rate online where
you can multi-table |
