h*****s 发帖数: 3289 | 1 Just got back from local casino.
It's not exactly my first time, as I played twice at TI, Las Vegas during a
crazy road trip last year. They only have 5 or 6 tables.
Played 100NL (2&3) for about 4/5 hours. Two big fishes (A&B) at the table (
playing crappy hands and keeping calling & calling). However, I was card
dead most of the time. There's not much I could do other than seeing other
solid players eating up their buy-ins one by one. One hand i flopped a
broadway,and A called my big re-raise( I was almost 100% sure he had a
crappy ace, so I raised big for more). Ace on the turn, he shoved and I
called. River paired the board again, which gave him a full house and costed
me about 1.5 buy-ins.
" you can't eat fish without a good hand, but good hands don't necessarily
guarantee you can eat fish successfully " please read this line in Chinese..
. LOL....
Then I was dealt premium hands several times, flopped nuts twice, and got
paid by a Korean maniac (straight>tow pairs, full house>trips....). I was up
about 5 buy-ins, cashed out, and registered in a 180 buy-in bounty
tournament along with other 140 players.
I had the average chip amount after level 7, and got doubled up (AK > flush
draw). Then I made a huge mistake by trying to bluff an old Vietnamese off
his hand (actually it's a full house..LOL..).SHOULD NEVER BLUFF OLD GUYS....
I lost 60% of my chips by doing so.When there'e 45 played left, I shoved
with A8 and got doubled up vs AK to have enough chips for keeping folding.
Nothing happened afterwards, and short-stacked all the way to money bubble.
I had only about 6 blinds left during hand-in-hand plays. Folding to be ITM
was not even possible. Still extremely short-stacked after getting a double-
up with AA.
After making in the money, my suckout tournament began finally. I rivered
trips (AQ>KK), and rivered a gut straight (99>JJ)vs. the table chip leader
who got eliminated shortly. He's steaming because he just lost TT to A2 to
another short-stack right before doubling me up twice. The funny thing about
99>JJ was that before that hand, he shoved on the button with JJ and I (
still short-stack) just folded 99 at big blind. I just didn't feel right.
Then he shoved with JJ again. I was holding 99 again, but called and sucked-
out. He yelled at and almost bit me..literally....
With enough chips I started making "fancy" plays (playing the position with
nothing, forcing the best hand to fold, making two tough but correct calls
and good folds such as AJ,TT,&JJ preflop..
......) and knocked out two short-stacks simultaneously (AA > 89 suited and
KK).That's the only two bounties I collected.....LOL...... I was the chip
leader starting the final table....What a comeback..LOL..
We did a 7-way deal, and I agreed to do so just because I got 2.6k, about
the same amount of money prized for the second place ( I was 2nd in chips
then). The potential No.1 had the biggest loss by doing a 7-way deal.
There were too many bad beats (AQ>AK, 53>AA.....)in these hours I played,
which made me think that online poker might not be rigged and set-up for
actions and pokerstars are not jokestars......LOL... A guy shoved AJ suited
and lost to J9 off-suited, both of them have a healthy chip stack. J9 called
a short-stack shove pre-flop and decided to call AJ re-shove. The biggest
bad beat I saw was Q8 off-suited > JJ with a board of TTTXT....It's always
said that no one wins a tournaments without winning races, but with suckouts
you can still win without even encountering a race........LOL......
After the deal was made, I was told by the director that the AJ guy is a pro
and WSOP bracelet winner..... Why on the earth would a millionaire play
such a small buy-in tournament? Just for fun? | h*****s 发帖数: 3289 | 2 My reaction is that patience is most important and decisive to play a
tournament, and a mistake can cripple you (not only your chips but also
keeping you away from "fancy" plays)....
BTW, I played MPT three times and made into the money every time (busted
soon though). I took it as a accomplishment as we have such a tough field to
compete......LOL............................... | j**y 发帖数: 7014 | 3 zan!
