then from wedding rehearsal we turned into last minute wedding planner /
helpers... tired... zzz |
c******q 发帖数: 456 | 5 Came back from AC last night. Here is one hand on 2/5 table.
MP raised to $25 after 2 limpers, 3 LPs called, I called with 3c4c on SB,
both limpers called. 7 ways to the flop.
Flop was 444. UTG led out $75, all folded to me. I had $1500ish behind and
UTG got me covered. UTG was quite loose and played very weird when he sat
down the table. But after catching a few good hands, he built a $2000+ stack
and then started to tight up. Since he limped/called, any big pair can be
ruled out of his range. And since he led out in front of 6 players, pure
bluff can most likely be ruled out as well. What is the optimal way to
continue this hand? |
T********n 发帖数: 528 | 6 This is not a good board for you to win his entire stack if you play
straight forward. Calling on the flop is too strong. Once you call the
flop, most of the time the most you will get in this pot is one more small
value bet.
You increase your chances at his stack if you raise the flop to an amount
that he may be suspicious you are trying to steal it after you saw everyone
else fold. If he's willing to call the raise (or make a move), you have a
lot more wiggle room on turn/river to try to get more money.
But overall you hit the board too hard for anyone else to have something to
work with. Be thankful the pot is already very large and someone still
stabbed out. If you raise and take it down, nothing wrong with it move on
to next hand :) |
c******q 发帖数: 456 | 7 totally agreed. I regretted immediately after I flatted on the flop. And the
turn was A, probably the worse card to me. |
W********m 发帖数: 7793 | 8 7 way pot! he would probably fold the flop if you raise anyway. it does not
matter much.

size for him to pay you off some more on later streets.

T*********k 发帖数: 1621 | 10 That is why OOP calling with speculation hand is not profitable IMO. You
have chance to lose a lot of money but you didn't get paid enough when you
hit a big hand because you have to act first. Although calling a raise at
this spot is nothing wrong because of the pot odds.
I would flat call the flop as well, you hit the board too strong that nobody
had a piece. UTG donk bet range probably include any pairs, and any Ax hand
or complete air. Other than a good mid pair+ or big Ax, ppl probably won't
call your raise on the flop. He/she will too worry about later street
actions to continue.
A situation like this is perfect example of slow playing. You need to give
others opportunities to improve their hands. |

raise/call represent stronger hands to me.
