t**e 发帖数: 256 | 1 My boss is an American guy. A BS in math. MBA and Ph.D in
operations
management from Indiana University. It's a top 10 in this
area in US.
He taught in Wisconsin Madison for 7 years. Without a
tenure, came to
Syracuse. He has a big house in a forest. Often times he can
see the
deer playing with his dogs.
I contacted him when he was in Winconsin in March 1998. He
told me he
would move later. I decided to go with him. Then I requested
application
materials from syracuse and hope to get it before A |

We had a full professor here more than 50. A tenure very
early.
But two kids only about 5 years old. He works every day,
every
holiday even now. Don't know why.

Do you believe that intelligence is

p********t 发帖数: 54 | 11 i think intelligence only acount maybe 30% of success in
academic career.
Now i am a PHD student in jp, from the primary school till
graduate school,
there is some student more intelligent than me, but almost
all of them doesn't
pursue a PHD degree.
So i think character and "chu shi neng li" is most important
factor. but surely,
great intelligence will help a lot in academic.

It seems to me that maturity is a combination
of intelligence and experience.
