今天和老板见面，老板告诉我他马上就要去purdue了
如果我愿意和他读博士，我就一起秋季去pursue, three more years to get PhD
如果不愿意，就留在这里，他远程指导我论文。答辩他也过来。
我可以七月份给答复。
这样我在这里就没老板了，没人管了。钱的问题不知道如何解决了。（当然存款还够用
，学费继续免，生活费就不好说了）
不过论文肯定就很好混了，很快就能毕业了。只要能有工作。
purdue呢，我的专业很强，拿个博士价值也很大的说，又那么省力就过去了。
不过我本人还是比较想留下来的。
我们实验室的一半要走，一半的留。大家都在讨论呢，呵呵 |

发帖数: 19 | 2 读PHD 是一条不能回头的路. 我听说有一些原本很优秀的
人在这条路上毁了自己一辈子. 有发精神病的,有从此郁郁
寡欢的,因为长期惶惶不安而变的冷漠自私自信心丧失怠尽.
你只要想象一下,你已经念了四年了,但你只发了一两篇第二
作者的文章,你因为终日劳累早已厌倦本专业,和那些所谓的
RESEARCH, 老板说你还远远不够...你只得坚持以头顶上的
头发为代价咬牙坚持.
你没看OVERSEA版的讨论, 有天资读PHD的人,只有少数会ENJOY,
大多数人赔--如果你当时只是想要INVEST的话.y因为你付出的是
年青岁月,而他本应为你带来比DR称号更实在的东西.
有一点可以测试你自己是否适合念PHD. 你是否因为看了某一
篇专业论文而激动并且想模仿. 你是否觉得你常常很欣赏
某一个概念简单的美感, 你是否能把RESEARCH 溶入日常
生活, 建议你去读一读爱英斯坦,香农,海明对于RESEARCH
的建议和经验.
PURDUE 是一所极好的学校.

Fangruo Chen (Shanghai Jiaotong), David Yao at Columbia,
Yuseng Zeng (Fudan) at U Penn.
Jingseng Song (Beijing Normal) at UC Irvine. They are No. 1
in this area.

as his advisor, tough lah. My principle to chooe the advisor
(three Nos)//
1) Non-Chinese Professor
2) Non-Assistant Professor
3) Non-Female Professor

Indian Professors have absolute power in Marketing.
All the big Chinese guys I mentioned above
are educated by two Jewish professors.
Chinese Professors will be everywhere in Finance in
10 years.

Jewish are inborn Millionaire, I don't understand wht
chinese or indian are good at this field? Just because
strong mathematic background. It's ridiculous that most of
Chinese or indian only focus on research, but don't know how
to transform the theory and knowledge into money.

in this field, I would like to say that in china we need
more Bankers and Managers.

a hundred years. Maybe even more since only the most rich
Jewish
people could immigrant to U.S. after the second world war.
Their kids either inherit the money or get a good education.
That helps a lot.
The history of the higher educated Chinese (Mainland) in US
is only about 20 years.
Hongkong, Taiwan and India is a little longer.
Even so, we already have Charles Wang (CA), Jerry Zhang
(Yahoo).
Other big companies such as i2, Infospace
