just got an offer, but there are some questions,
1, The comapany give me 5000 lump sum payment for relocation,
I am not sure if I need to return the left money if I can
not spend all that money.
2.The offer is 50k, in Tenneessee, I am wondering how much
the income every month after tax, ssn etc..

Tax in TN is 9.25%
No incoming tax so far, but TN Gov is considering the incoming tax anyway.
$50k is enough for a couple to live decently in TN (better than in MD).

If company pays you $5000 relocation fee, you won't need to return any money.
If it only reimburses your relocation expenses no more than $5000, you have no
way to keep the rest money in your pocket.
No too bad to live in TN, and it is the home town of country music.
