On behalf of TJUAAA and Tongji Foundation Inc., we would like to take
this opportunity to send our warmest holiday greetings to you and your
family. We wish you a very happy holiday season and great success in
the coming new year.
We have very exciting news to share with you. As our Tongji Foundation
being approved by IRS as a 501c(3) nonprofit organization this year, we
stand in a better position to raise more fund for the foundation and
sponsor more activities. With this IRS approval, all of our future
donations are tax deductible and employer-matchable. When you make a
donation, we will send you a receipt for tax purpose and we will post it
in www.tongji.org.
My friends, as we are counting down the year of 2011 and decorating for
the holidays, we would like to call for another round of donation to
Tongji Foundation. As you know, alumni donation is a very important
index in the university ranking. That is the main reason we are calling
for this donation. We really hope you can act right now before New Year
since only donations made in 2011 will be counted toward the next
ranking. If you can save $20 a month to support Tongji Foundation, that
will be great. But if that is too much, $20 a year is still very
helpful. For the past several years, TongJi‘s ranking has not been
performing very well. As alumni of Tongji University, we can help if we
can all contribute to it a little bit.

Right now with the voluntary work of one of our alumni, we are
rebuilding the website of www.tongji.org, which was not updated for a
while. Please check back later after New Year. We hope that website will
become an info center and connection platform for us. We are also
planning a party to celebrate Chinese New Year in January. Please send
your suggestions to me. We will also keep you updated. And we continue
counting on the support from all of you, our most valued alumni. We can
work together to make our association the Tongji Foundation one of the
best nonprofit organizations!
