You don't actually see the mountain until about 4 hours into your bus ride
into the park - by the time the eariest buses reach this point (or Eilson)
the clouds have often moved in and covered the mountain. So lots of folks on
day trips never see McKinley. Being in the backcountry will increase your
chances of seeing McKinley. Staying at the Wonder Lake campground (basically
, its at the end of the long road in) also increases your chances - thus it'
