发帖数: 1817 | 1 夏威夷群岛 Hawaiian Islands Hopping (Winter break I & Summer II)
Hopping 3~4 islands in Hawaii [Dec~Jan], then the rest next summer. I'm a
graduate student here in US. I love nature/national parks and outdoor stuff
. I can drive and I like swimming. If I've got a good group/travel buddy,
I'll consider going there twice a year. I can find a good deal there and im
quite familiar with that area.

Here's the tentative itinerary, but it can be flexible, depending on how
many days can we take off from work/school: For the winter: 7 days~2 weeks;
For the summer: 2~4 weeks (My friend can get me a room to stay at the
University of Hawaii campus for $12~14 per day)
I Winter Break Plan:
1 Maui:
It's also called the "Valley Isle" for the large isthmus between its
northwestern and southeastern volcanoes and the numerous large valleys
carved into both mountains. Maui offers a wide range of things to do, and
we have the next few days to explore as we wish: Iao Valley, Haleakalā
National Park (nickname: House of the Sun); Oheo Gulch...
2. Kauai
Depart from Maui and fly to the beautiful “Garden Isle” of Kauai.
Discover 50-miles of heavenly beaches from Poipu Beach to Hanalei Bay. This
island is a feast of grean, tropicl forests, cascading waterfalls: from the
soaring cliffs of the Napali Coast to the vast chasms of Waimea Canyon.
3. Lāna'i or Moloka'i:
Lanai is a destination of untouched tranquility. This romantic island is a
true getaway: enthralling sights like the lunar landscapes of Keahiakawelo,
also called Garden of the Gods, and the iconic Puu Pehe (Sweetheart Rock)
are distinctly unique to Lanai.
Molokai is “Hawaiian by Nature”: come to Molokai for a quiet escape or for
outdoor adventures ranging from sports fishing to a memorable mule ride
down to historic Kalaupapa. Experience for Hawaii's largest white sand beach
II Summer Plan:
1.Honolulu:
Arrive in Honolulu. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore this
tropical playground.

2. Big Island
Fly to Kona or Hilo on Hawaii's "Big Island." - A vast canvas of
environments to discover a variety of unrivaled natural wonders: Hawaii
Volcanoes National Park. The world’s climate zones generate everything from
lush rain forests to volcanic deserts, snow-capped mountaintops to
beautiful black sand beaches. Hopefully, we'll see lava flow. :) it’s
still growing.
