Visa required, except for Those holding a visa (valid for at
least 3 months beyond the date of arrival) for Canada, an EU
Member State TIRGL/EEU or the USA, for:
- a max. stay of 30 days, provided being nationals of China
(People's Rep.);
- a max. stay of 30 days, for holders of Hong Kong (SAR
China) passports;
So, as far as your H1b is valid for more than 3 months, you dont' need a
visa to visit Costa Rica.
Manuel Antonio is a nice beach town in the south by Pacific. There are some
national parks around there too.
The most typical route for international tourist is a loop like:
San Jose -> La Fortuna (Volcano Arenal) -> MonteVerde->San Jose.
Or, reverse the order.
La Fortuna area has Hot Springs, and there's opportunity to see the Lava
Flow from the Volcano Arenal (less than 20% though).
Both Fortuna and MonteVerde has good Canopy tours, horseback riding,
canyoning, waterfalls, nature hikes, etc.
There's another volcano which is closer to San Jose -- vocalno Poas. You can
make a day trip, and could combine it with a Coffee tour.
In the Caribean side, there's a nice national park which is famous for
seaturtles.
