day1: Jetblue direct fly from JFK to Cancun, only takes 3.5 hours, arrive at
Omni hotel, rest in hotel
day2: Took a trip to Isla Mujeres (Grafon all inclusive), did snorkeling,
zipline, watched swim with dolphines (we missed this exciting piece)
day3: Took a trip to Chichen Itza, all inclusive only includes lunch buffet
day4: Took bus (Playa Express) to Playa del carmen, check in at Valentin
Imperial Maya resort, this resort is huge and all-inclusive/adults
only. It's very different from hotels in cancun as it has more spaces.
The food is good and there are shows every night. I recommend this
hotel to everyone.
day5: Took a trip to Tulum & Xelha theme park. Xelha only has all-inclusive
tickets (79$). We did snorkeling (better than Isla Mujeres), and other
water sports
day6: Stay at Valentin and tried all different activities (rifle shooting,
espano lesson, pingpong, pool, and biking), relaxing
day7: check out and fly back to JFK.
Some tips:
1. No need to exchange a lot of dollars for pesos. Only transportation
like Ado bus and private buses take pesos. All other packages,
programs take dollars and the exchange rate is not good everywhere!
(airport exchange rate is 9.5/14.5, they are earning 5 pesos margin!)
Use credit if you don't have pesos (It' better even after 3% charge)
2. I recommend to go to playa del carmen. The hotels/resorts there have
more space and rooms for relaxing. The hotel we stay is very nice.
A little bit more expensive than Omni but it's worth every penny.
3. If you want to use the 30day rule to re-enter US, be careful about
your visa valid date (PED date) and entry times.
We were stuck in JFK custom for an hour before they finally let us go.
Enjoy your trip! |
