1) Far east, only one national park in New England (Acadia). it was
shaped by the glacier
from Hudson Bay of Canada. if you look at the coast of Acaida, Cape
Cod, Nova Scotia, you can see the trace
it leave when the glacier retreat.
2) Appalachian is the oldest mountain range in US, the dramatic moment
has long gone.
smoky mountain and Shenandoah has their moment, we just miss it.
3) Blackhill & Greatplains
Not many choice, but badland, windcave and devil's tower worthy visit
4) rocky mountains (along with other mountain ranger at west) is still
rising, that's why we always go to west to explore the mountain!
You see yellowstone, Grand Teton, Glacier, Rocky mountain
5) Colorado Plateau is equally (if not more) dramatic, where you can
find Grand Canyon, zion, bryce, Mesa Verde, Petrified Forest, Arches,
Canyonloand...
6) Sierra nevada produce higest peak in lower 48 Mount Whitney, along
with a variety of national parks
Yosemite, Kings canyon, Sequoia, Crater Lake.
7) Cascades mountain range
Mountain Rainier, Cascades, Mount st helen NM
8) Guadalupe Mountains range lies in the south, with
Guadalupe Mountains National Park, as well as Carlsbad Caverns National
Park.

即使在CHICAGOLAND, 还是有很多不同的, 至少在建筑上.

日期也不行, 就取消了. 哎......
哈哈, 我是比较爱玩的. 大热天, 在CHICAGO西郊走了8,9小时也觉得还好!

US only have 58 national park. but a lot of national monument or national
historical site, or national seashore, or national lakeshore...

, taste some juice beef jerky. black bear resort where local feed the black
bear out of restaurant -- not really a good thing to advertise, but they do
this for years and bear come back year after year.
Not many choice, but definitely much more than 麦当劳，沃尔玛.

那两个纪念碑怎么有资格当national monument呢? 你也是错的
一个是National Memorial 一个是National Register of Historic Places

the reason some place claim itself as national park, because it's managed
under NPS (national park service).
