从机场坐shuttle到Grand Central,沿42街往东走到联合国（1st ave），再往北走到49
街，大概步行15min吧。
纽约的德国领馆9点开门，去早了没用，我今天8点到那里，等到8点55分才开门。签证
也不是严格按照预约时间来的，我约的是9点半到10点的，也还是第一个就进去签证了
，9点10分就出来了。签证的过程就是里面的mm把所有材料都看一遍，看到所需要的关
键字后就用marker圈出来，没有问其他的签证问题。最后填fedex的快递单，签证费加
邮寄费一共105刀。
Required Documents
- fully completed application form (only German and English versions
accepted) and required declaration
- two passport photographs (strict requirements, see details)
4.5厘米乘以3.5厘米的照片，尺寸可以在http://www.epassportphoto.com/裁剪，国家选德国就可以了。前面有人说去签证的时候，门卫会说照片不能带眼镜，我这次去没有遇到这个问题，门卫只是看了一下预约名单上的名字，确认我带了现金和填好了申请表，安检一下后就让我通过了。
- valid national passport and one copy (Please note these important
regulations concerning your travel document/passport:
(a) its validity has to extend the duration of the visa you are applying for
by at least 3 months
(b) it has to contain at least two blank pages;
(c) it must have been issued within the previous 10 years. If it has been
issued before that, your passport can not be accepted. That even applies in
cases where the validity has been extended by the authorities of your home
country.
护照在过去10年内签发，有效期要比签证有效期多3个月，至少有2页空白页
If your passport does not meet all of these requirements, you will need to
obtain a new passport before applying for a visa.)
- original valid US alien registration card or valid US resident visa (type
A, E, F plus endorsed I-20, G, H, I, J plus J1 documents, L, O, R) and one
copy
- your current bank statements from the previous three months and one copy
前面有人说银行的statement要原件，但是我从网上打印的，签证官也什么都没有说。
- confirmation letter from your health insurance stating coverage for
emergency medical, hospitalisation and repatriation with a minimum of 30,
000 Euros (equiv. US$ 50,000) for trips outside the US and one copy
保险证明最曲折了，本来自己的保险是有cover的，但是想让他们按照使馆的要求出写
东西很困难。看前人推荐的网上买保险http://www.hthtravelinsurance.com/purchase/quote/quote.cfm
我买了10天的保险，一共8块5毛。网上交钱后马上就可以打印出来相关证明，要求非常
符合领馆的要求。这里需要注意的是，网上预约签证后，领馆发过来的email里面对这
个有一点额外的要求，就是要有单独把repatriation的coverage列出来。还要求有
dental的coverage，这都是在他们网上没有提到的。
- business references (letter from your US employer, invitation from German
company or organization, stating that it will bear all accumulating expenses)
德国的邀请信不用是寄过来的原件，扫描件打印就可以了。
- proof of hotel reservation and airline reservation and one copy
Hotel订的是refundable的，airline找小秘定的，为了以防万一，小秘也没有最终出票
，网上显示status 是unknown 而不是confirmed，不知道领馆会不会去查…
- your driver's license and/or utility bill in your name as proof of
residence in the consular district where you plan to apply这个没用上

发帖数: 101 | 4 去签证的入口和领事馆不在一个地方，要到旁边的侧门进入。那个门的标志看上去像个
汉堡店，我找了半天没找到，问的别人才知道是这个地方。
还有德国签证可以坐着， 很不错。一早上就几个人签。 | w********0

发帖数: 353 | 8 有申根签证和有效的美国签证，打算去程在马德里转机去德国，回城从英国转机回美国。
去程应该是没有问题的，因为西班牙在申根内，关于回来在英国转机，可能要过夜但不
超过24小时，不知可否免签证，如果可以是否有可能出机场逛逛。
按照faq1 的link查询后，自己的理解是可以免签证，请指点是否正确。正确的话不妨m

TWOV (Transit Without Visa):
Visa required, except for Passengers who may be granted
permission by the Immigration authorities to enter the United
Kingdom, for a stay not exceeding 24 hours.
可以免签证转机，只要不超过24小时，但必须满足如下要求：。。。
The following conditions must be complied with:
- passengers hold confirmed reservations for an onward flight
within 24 hours; and
有confirmed机票，会在24小时内离开
- continue to a third country; and
前往第3国
- have no purpose in entering the United Kingdom other than to
pass through in transit; and
除转机外无意进入英国

第三个 从美新澳加出发，经英国转机的时候，距离最后一次持有效签证进入美新澳加
不超过6个月，即使在英国转机时签证已失效。 (这一条我很不能理解其思路，不
知道是不是我理解错了)
