Rafting: Pigeon Forge? not so sure
Photo: Cades Cove for wild life(black bear, white tail deer, coyote),
Cataloochee for elk. Foothills for sunrise, Clingmans Dome for sunset,
Oconaluftee Valley/Newfound Gap for sunrise
Live: prefer TN side since close to most places. Gatlinburg is most
convenient but maybe expensive,Pigeon Forge is ~6 miles from Gatlinburg and
has a lot of dining options and amusement places (someone said it is like
little LV)and could be cheaper. Townsend is quiet with less traffic and
close to Cades Cove.
There is a Tanger Outlet in Sevierville but TN tax of 9.25% kills it.
Gatlinburg is a small tourism town embraced by the mountains and is worth
for a leisure afternoon.
