this "random" assumption by reviewing the anthropic principle(人择原理). I
think it can be applied here. Certain mutations have to happen for the Homo
sapiens to evolve. But that doesn't mean mutations have a guidance or
are intervened by divine objects.
Say you are playing cards. Cards are shuffled and randomly distributed to
players. When we see the cards played by a player, we can get an idea of
what cards the player has. When you review the history, it has a direction.
Certain cards has to be distributed to the player for he/she to play those
cards. But that does not mean the cards aren't distributed randomly in the
first place.
2) In the first lecture of Yale's evolutionary biology course. The professor
mentioned:
microevolution is about the process, about the biological mechanisms
macroevolution is about the history, about the accumulated results of that
process happening over billions of years.
Spicypotatos accept the process in the microevolution but refuse the accept
the history described in the macroevolution given(or ignoring) the current
evidences.
Littletshirt is different. She not only refuse to accept the history in
macroevolution, but she also refuse to accept the process of microevolution.
Or putting it more accurately, she suggests that the microevolutions
happening over billions of years are different from the processs we observe
now.
What is history anyway? It is only a description of what we thought happened
. The description produced by evolution theory is highly compatible with the
observerble reality. littletshirt's description is no different than
stating "a magic man did it!"
The history explained by evolution theory is better because the sources the
evolution theory used to draw conclusions from are better according to the
principles used by historians:
1. Objective evidences are more credible sources than narratives
2. The closer a source is to the event which it purports to describe, the
more one can trust it to give an accurate historical description of what
actually happened.
3. If multiple independent sources contain the same message, the credibility
of the message is strongly increased. (Gene homology, fossil records,
comparative atanomy)
4. The tendency of a source is its motivation for providing some kind of
bias. Tendencies should be minimized or supplemented with opposite
motivations.
5. If it can be demonstrated that the witness or source has no direct
interest in creating bias then the credibility of the message is increased.
littletshirt is trying to deny the historical nature of macroevolution.
Which is very unprofessional. I support Eloihim's request for littletshirt's
reading lists on the topic (even though I don't require that it should be
books, anything from webpages to research papers works for me). And please
show us which passages from your reading lists supports your view. | d******2 发帖数: 107 | 2 我英文表达看来有问题,没有反响啊

actually I read it. 英文表达 not a problem (well-written and better than
mine), except for misrepresenting my views.
I guess you need to learn from the word-playing masters (not to name names)
