DESCRIPTION
Since April 10, 2011, the day that Shouwang Church was compelled to congrega
te in the open air, the event of Shouwang Church has attracted great attenti
ons from the medias and Christians all over the world. The event has become
the hallmark of the issue of the publicization and legalization of house chu
rches in mainland China. Where will Shouwang Church go involves a series of
several questions. The future of house churches, the religious freedom, and
even the social development in China are affected. Other than prayers and ma
ny expressed supports, it’s necessary for Christian missionary agencies to
inquire and communicate regarding the matter. Therefore, CMI decides to hold
a symposium on the topic of “Shouwang’s Event and House Church’s Legaliz
ation”, with the purpose to further seek God’s will on this circumstance,
to arise more concerns from all churches, to call on the reformation of reli
gious policies of the Chinese government, and to promote the development of
the publicization and legalization of the house churches.
