r**t 发帖数: 115 | 1 Biblical inerrancy is a very Protestant approach to the Holy Scripture. It
’s difficult to modify the Holy Church past 2,000 years’ understandings to
the Protestant frame work. But since you guys are so interested in this
topic. Here’s the simplified answer for you.
Catechism 107
107 The inspired books teach the truth. "Since therefore all that the
inspired authors or sacred writers affirm should be regarded as affirmed by
the Holy Spirit, we must acknowledge that the books of Scripture firmly,
faithfully, and without error teach that truth which God, for the sake of
our salvation, wished to see confided to the Sacred Scriptures."
Key points:
1. Inerrancy applies only to 'that truth which God wanted put into sacred
writings for the sake of salvation.'
2. Literal reading of the Holy Scripture without Spiritual understanding is
AGAINST Church Teaching.
Interpretation of the Holy Scripture is totally different topic... So I
will not discuss here.
