address on Saturday to assail a Supreme Court ruling this week clearing the
way for corporations to spend freely on political advertisements, calling it
a big victory for special interests and "devastating to the public interest
." He added that his administration is working with Congress to develop a
bipartisan legislative solution to override the ruling.

ruling. I would think this would have been covered in school. I can only
imagine how upset you are, considering all the truth in advertising that's
about to "come home to roost"...unless Bawny Fwank has his way and pushes
for a tax penalty when private corporations spend advertising dollars. I can

you're not at harvard anymore. | m******t 发帖数: 2416 | 3
What Obama and many other people angry at the moment fail to grasp is
that the best way not to "hand more influence to the lobbyists in
Washington" is not to hand more influence to those whom the
lobbyists try to work on - the government.
And more band-aid legislating does exactly that.

I suspect that that would still be unconstitutional. As long as spending
money on advertising is considered making a speech, it can't be penalized.
