Yeah, this topic is an old, tired one, but it was reported by Bret Baier on
Fox News.
News coming out of Arizona won’t be making any birthers happy. Arizona
Secretary of State Ken Bennett asked the state of Hawaii to legally verify
that President Obama was born in Hawaii.
Well, the state of Hawaii did just that. Now, Bennett acknowledges that
Obama is constitutionally qualified to be the President. By the way,
Bennett is a Republican.
This isn’t the first time that Hawaii government officials verified that
President Obama was born in Hawaii. In April 2011 the state of Hawaii
issued a news release which stated for the official record that Obama was
born in Hawaii.
I don’t expect that this latest evidence will satisfy anyone who still
insists that Obama was born outside the USA. There are still people who
claim that Obama’s long-form birth certificate is a fake – a claim that
has already been debunked, as reported by FoxNews.com.
Also, there are still people who believe that Obama isn’t a natural-born U.
S. citizen despite his birth in Hawaii. In the SCOTUS case of United
States v. Wong Kim Ark, the Court ruled that a person born in the USA is a
natural-born citizen, which means that Obama is a natural-born citizen.
Obama’s constitutional eligibility to be the President was confirmed by
Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp. By the way, Kemp is a Republican.
There are plenty of reasons to be opposed to Obama’s presidency*, but his
citizenship status isn’t one of them.
(*I have always been opposed to Obama’s presidency.)
