Xui Lui bought her Norcross, Ga., condo in 2011 — in cash.

property, because it was auctioned to a new owner thanks to a $94.85 city
tax bill Liu says she didn’t even know she had.
WSBTV reports that Lui has been told to pack up and leave the property by
Nov. 25 because it already has a new owner. Lui said she has paid her county
and city tax bills every year and wasn’t aware there was an outstanding
balance from her first year as the condo’s owner.
She said she later learned that the city was sending her overdue tax bills
in the mail without including her name or address and that they were being
returned to sender.
“No street, no name. How can I receive the letter?” Lui said, according to
WSBTV. “Where are we going to go? I have nowhere. This is my house. Why do
I need to move out?”
Norcross City Manager Rudolph Smith acknowledged that officials are trying
to fix the problem; but with the home already sold to a new owner, it’s
unclear what the city can do.
“We are going back and doing our due diligence,” he told WSBTV. The city
contractor who handled the sale, he said, “will try to work something out.”
Meanwhile, Lui has likened the situation to robbery and is looking for a
lawyer to help her fight the eviction.
“Someone can rob your house? Rob your property? This is not American style,
right?” she said.

一般每个月的某天,在county court外的院里进行这类拍卖.
Purchasers of property at tax sale do not automatically "own" the property,

Purchasers must by law allow the property owner one year after the date of

has a legal interest in the property, such as a mortgage company or anyone
who holds a lien on the property may also redeem the property. To redeem a

the purchaser paid at tax sale, plus 20% of that amount. In addition to this
amount, the purchaser may also add to the redemption price the dollar
