Libertarians believe, people's choices to make exchanges should be based on
free will, which means they can chose whatever merchandise/object they
choose to accept. What naturally follows from that reasoning is they are
free to accept anything as money without coercion from anyone, including
free from what you think should be issued and distributed equally.
So Libertarian/Austrians actually don't care what money should be, gold or
silver or widget of whatever origin, as long as it is each individual's free
choice.
Gold happen to be the freest material/merchandise from coersion/manipulation
on
earth. It is not that Austrians insist on Gold being the ultimate money.
The only reason is that give a choice, without oppression from a collective
power, gold always had/has/will have the natural tendency to be used by free
people as money.

have public affairs.
Small government. Limited government. The key is to limit affairs as
private as possible.
So, what should be public affairs?
If you ask me, I would say it is not policing. It is not educating. It us
not even defence.
It is money. In practice, it is a public thing. In theory, it is as well.
I am not saying money has to be. No. You don't have to have any public
affairs.
I am saying Money is the No. 1. Public affair. Which is to say, if I have to
pick only 1 affair as public, I vote for money.
If money should not be public affair, then my view is nothing should be.
If we agree on this, we can continue. Otherwise let us dissent respectfully. |

That is perhaps how precious medals gained their positions in trade as
common money.
Of course it does not have to be fiat money. HK money is issued by private
bank. 大清朝的陕西钱庄造就发行银票了，搞得就是fractional reserve system.
货币纸币化， 现在电子化，是历史的事实，是大众的选择，是货币进化的方向。 我们
对这一点先有共识才行。
在这一个认识的基础上，可以论证把金钱作为公共事务是一个合理的选择。不是说必须
，而是说逼取其他事务来，金钱最有资格做公共事务。

On abandoning paper money, you have to think from Government point of view,
why they want to ban paper money? Control and Tax. So don't write off paper
money too soon.
