显然,出于党派政治观点,美国民间宗教被标记为“基督教民族主义”。
Would That It Really Were ‘Christian Nationalism’
Distinctly American folk religiosity is labeled "Christian nationalism" for
partisan political points.

Nationalism poisons everything. I say this as a Jew who has seen how Zionism
turned many of my own people into nascent fascists. So too with the
Evangelic movement which has turned Christianity to Mammonism with anti-
Christian fascist overtones. Nationalism is a poison which requires enemies
and a suspension of critical.intellect and morality. When combined with
religion -- any religion -- it is the most toxic poison on earth always
resulting in violence against others. The extreme-right in our country
thrives on ignorance, conspiracy thinking, xenophobia, bigotry and violence
against those they disagree with. This has a long tradition in our country
but it is passed time for it to end. Like the pandemic, it cannot be
tolerated and must be destroyed for there to be any chance of social
cohesion, public safety or the survival of our country. | b*********4 发帖数: 1 | 2 Christian nationalism, or "syncretic folk Christianity," or whatever the
author wants to call it is deeply un-American.
The Founding Fathers themselves put it best in the Treaty of Tripoli (1796),
unanimously ratified by the Senate and signed by President John Adams:
"the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense,
founded on the Christian religion" (Article 11) |
