This story aside, I'm pretty blown away by Gretchen Whitmer blatantly lying
about her own orders.
"I'm not going to get distracted by partisan hit jobs on my team. There have
never been travel restrictions in Michigan. There just haven't been,"
Whitmer said during a news conference.
Executive Order 2020-42, issued April 9, 2020 and rescinded by Executive
Order 2020-59 on April 24, 2020, explicitly banned, among other things,
travel between two residences in the state of Michigan, any travel to
vacation rentals, and, aside from the exceptions laid out in the order (food
, caring for a relative, etc.), prohibited "all other travel."
There were absolutely travel restrictions in Michigan. |
