I always use this alias, so didn't pay attention to it.
alias fn 'find * -name \!:* -print'

also, \!:* might be simplified as !*

it's based on some index. but you cannot find the file you just created,
because it has not been indexed yet.

alias fn 'find . -name \!*'
The find * actually doesn't include .dir
