Contrl Center)? |

to worry about that. meanwhile, normal account might need the control center
to configure their desktop. if you do not want them to see it at all, just
de-register the program from kde conf file.

especially comparing to win98.
Leave the control center to normal user, so they can configure their desktop,
such as changing the background.
However, they can't make any system-wide change, don't worry about that,
all system files are only writable by root.
Linux is for multiple users, win98 is for home use.

另外,bz兄所说“de-register the program from kde conf
file”……

user interface only, and is different with win98's control-panel.
You can certainly disable it by uninstall it or make it only
executable by root.

"de-register". However, if you insist on doing it, deprive the users' privilege
to customize their KDE, here's what will try.
the links you see in your "start" menu come from two places:/usr/share/applnk
and ~/.kde/share/applnk. by default, all the KDE controls are available at
/usr/share/applnk/Settings/. move that whole directory to
/root/.kde/share/Settings should do the trick.
and if those links are gone, running "kcontro
