After months of speculation, the Mountain West has decided not to expand.
Commissioner Craig Thompson said in a news conference that after extensive
discussions, the conference presidents and athletic directors have decided
not to expand.
In other words, Boise State is not going to the Mountain West -- today.

should
somthing happen. They are waiting for the dust to settle, which I think is
the correct move at this time.

发帖数: 707 | 5 per ChipBrownOB's twitter, Pac10 will start inviting teams this week.
Obviously NU and Mizzou were given a 2-week deadline to make their
intentions known to Big12. Boise isn't going anywhere, there's enough time
to invite them before July 1st.

now. However, the decision of inviting a school to join a conference is to
be made by university presidents and they care more than how strong a
football team you have at this moment. As a complete package, Boise is
nowhere near the other potential candidates are bringing with them, i.e. KU,
CU, etc. Granted, it's a longshot to have those schools to join the MWC,
they would probably start inviting UU/BYU/TCU as soon as

night I felt that MWC presidents preferred a 12-team conference instead of
10 or 14/16. SDSU president also mentioned there're scenarios that "one,
maybe two" MWC schools leaving. I still think MWC is going to survive this
chaos.

MWC is not collapsing under any circumstances including 1/2 teams jumping
ship.
I hope all MWC schools stick together. I hate all the expansion talks now
are money-driven and traditions are being thrown out of the window. If you
remember how the MWC was formed it was because "gang of five" wanted to play
each other every year. If UU/BYU jump to the new Big12 which would include
bunch of eastern schools I don't know how m

不过现在各个联盟胃口都大了
mwc要还是走保守主义讨不了好
听说wmc建立时的元老永远不会被mwc踢出去
所以新墨西哥这种就一个劲的烂吧
对几个有上进心的球队而言，一个是aq,一个是钱
如果aq因为保守水漂的话
道义就只好用来垫桌脚了

Simply adding Boise won't give us AQ. Kicking teams out is not an option,
New Mexico's hoops team brings a lot to the table. Same goes to SDSU and
UNLV. All front range schools are original "gang of five". I believe UU
still has a pending offer from Pac10 if this Texas plan falls through. BYU/
TCU, not so much. Then if Pac10 does expand to 16, the remaining Big12 will
not get to keep their AQ so jumping to new Big12 doesn't make sense either.

if mwc helps to tear down b12, the spot is mwc's to fill
if b12 can retain 5 old teams and add 3 more new teams to survive (BCS
requirement: minimum of 8 teams and 5 of them need to be with the conference
for at least 5 years), then b12 will fight against mwc for the aq spot in
2012 |
