Job Essentials
Codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, and enhances existing programs
to ensure that production systems continue to meet user needs.
Coordinates interface with user management regarding project status,
direction and user needs to promote an environment of user cooperation and
satisfaction.
Coordinates with the testing process through test review and analysis, test
witnessing and certification of software.
Identifies and resolves system operating problems in order to provide
business continuity.
Contributes to the development of high level system architecture documents
and detailed design specifications to serve as a guide for system/
application development.
Provides estimates for work required to be completed based on user
requirements.
Maintains basic understanding of industry application development best
practices, tools, programming languages and techniques. Keeps current with
new developments in the information technology industry and may contribute
to the development and implementation of organizational and departmental
standards and methodologies.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Is aware of
a variety of software engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
This position will work with confidential and proprietary information that
requires a signed IT Employee Invention and Confidentiality Agreement upon
hire.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, programming, or other technical
field OR four or more years of professional software development experience.
Intermountain Healthcare verifies both degree attainment and educational
institution accreditation following an offer of employment.
Three or more years of professional software development experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Java/J2EE/Spring
Experience with clinical information systems
Knowledge of object-relational mapping (Hibernate), web-services (SOAP/REST)
, work flow (BPMN 2.0), and rules engines (Drools).
Proficiency building unit tests, especially using JUnit.
Proficient in database architecture and design using Oracle
Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be comfortable working autonomously as well as work well in a team
environment
Strong analytical skills, strong problem solving skills, excellent attention
to detail
Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
Must be proactive and able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
