in April. The reason: the State Corporation Commission has
ordered the state's 804 area code region to split in two.
That means cities including Charlottesville, Lynchburg,
Danville, South Boston and Emporia will be issued a new
area code after the SCC selects the new digits at the end
of the year. The Richmond area will remain in the 804 area
code. Officials say the renumbering plan will provide
