You might not need to do so, ask your employer to first to postpone reporting
your status to INS, most employer would like to help you unless you didn't get
fired because of trying to set fire in your office. As long as employer didn't
report to INS, INS would not know your status. As to the law, INS "Encourage"
employer to report his employer's status ..., it's not required.
As to transfer your visa to F1 as quickly as possible, you might want to think
