Job Description & Responsibilities
Description:
This is a database administration/troubleshooting position rather than a
developer position. Person will have to learn VSE’s agile development
platform, SQLDBI from Chainbridge Technologies, thoroughly and be able
to support a large suite of solutions in production and coming to
production down the road. Person will have to be able to document issues
to hand-off to developers when necessary. Person will have to work
closely with SQLDBI developers as well as with VSE technical staff and
customers. Person will also have to learn and support scripts and stored
procedures that move data between SQLDBI systems and other VSE corporate
systems. In the event that other duties do not fill available time,
person will participate in system testing/QC activities.
Responsibilities
• Document and investigate all reported issues with SQLDBI systems
and associated utilities such as ETL scripts; use VSE trouble ticket
system (currently Track-It) for this purpose.
• Resolve issues involving adding/modifying users, adding users to
groups, adding information to dropdown menus, and other user and data
issues.
• Resolve issues involving system triggers, alerts, and emails.
• Work with an SQLDBI developer at VSE or at Chainbridge to
identify the solution or range of solutions to issues that are not data
content or trigger/alert/email issues.
• Create reports in Crystal Reports or SSRS (SQL Server Reporting
Services) as needed.
• Develop system test scenarios and participate in system testing,
as needed.
Qualifications Required
Qualifications
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
•The qualified candidate has 3+ years previous technical
support/customer service experience or 4-year technical degree.
•The qualified candidate has demonstrated skills in report creation in
at least one of Crystal Reports or SSRS.
•The qualified candidate has technical skills including experience
with
Enterprise Management Studio, and understanding of T-SQL, XML, C#, and
Visual Basic sufficient to investigate database systems and scripts
created by other developers.
•Excellent verbal and written skills are required.
•The ability to function with little supervision under tight deadlines
