大家好，我一个买车菜鸟来这里跟大家咨询一下买二手车的问题。。FAQ看了，但是实
在是没找到相关
的。。如果之前有人解答了的话，大家给指点一下明路，给我个链接我自己看。。谢谢

先介绍一下我的背景，我现在在费城读书，五月毕业，然后要去Virginia工作。现在想
买个二手车，想
知道如果我在费城买的话，费城的车牌照到VA去要不要另外交钱啊什么的啊，这个手续
什么的我都不太
懂。。还是说我在费城买和在VA买没什么区别？
另外一个就是关于买二手车的咨询啦。我是女生，现在打算买个6k左右的车，希望加上
所有所有保险啊
啥的各种不要超过8k。大家有什么推荐的model吗？就是代步用，希望车新一点，然后
外形不要太丑。

发帖数: 1028 | 2 If you don't need the car in 费城, you should just buy it after you arrive
in VA. That way you can avoid the cost of register the car in PA and once
more in VA in a short time. But if you find a good deal right before you
leave PA (within 30 days), you can buy the car in PA (most dealer should
give you a temp tag) and you can just drive the car to VA and register it
here with your new address. This is risky if you don't have much driving
experience and have to drive long distance first time.
As far as car goes, you can't get a new DFBB for your budget, but you might
be able to get a 3 to 5 year old american or korean car if you are lucky,
most of them are actually quite good. You can look into these first.
2003-2008 Hyundai Elantra (you might be able to get very new one)
2003-2008 Toyota Camry (if you get lucky)
2006-2008 Hyundai Azera (more luxury than Elantra)
2003-2008 BMW 3 Series (good choice if you want something sporty)
2003-2008 Mazda Miata (convertible)
For the newer cars it is best to buy from dealer auction (you need a dealer
friend that can take you)
One last tip, if there are two car for the same price (assume similar
condition), I would go with the newer one with more miles than the older one
with fewer miles. But condition should be the number 1 deciding factor and
most modern car can last way beyond what you want to keep it for.

But you should know the sales tax for car is twice as much in PA compare to VA (
PA is 6%, VA is only 3%) that may not matter much if you only buy a cheap
used car.
You will need to pay VA property tax (county or city) bu you might be able
to get some refund on unused portion of the PA property tax (I am not sure,
you can check, each state is a little different)
