Job Description:
This position is the senior DBA specializing in Oracle products in a UNIX
environment. The position supports infrastructure databased and application
operation in a federal agency data center at Washington, DC. The candidate
should be able to work in dynamic environment with self-improving skills.
The candidate must be a good team player and willing to work in multi-
tasking environment.
The successful candidate must have professional expert with Oracle products.
The detail responsibilities include, but not limit to,
• Install, configure, manage, patch, and troubleshoot production,
staging, and development databases in physical and virtual environment
• Coordinate with thirty parties to manage database activities for
remote database
• Involve network troubleshooting for client connection and
application performance
• Manage disaster recovery environment for live backup production
environment, at least one exercise per year for disaster recovery
• Manage daily backup through export, RMAN and others
• Database tuning for application performance
• Manage database security audit upon FISCAM requirement
• Provide leadership in technology trends in database area
• Involve in SQL server activity
• Involve in application support and connection
Preferred skills include the following
• Solid knowledge and experience with database and middleware
concepts and practices
• Hands-on experience with LDAP-OID
• PLSQL programming and data modeling experience
• Good written and verbal communication ability
Qualifications for this position are:
• BS degree in Computer Science or a related field is essential
• At least 5-years of hands-on experience with the Oracle Database
Product
• At least 1-year of experience in UNIX administration
• SQL server experience is desired
• Web services knowledge is preferred
• Cloud experience will be big plus
