每年这个时候最痛苦的不是tax return，而是痛苦的报了半天发现尼玛还要退钱？！
！有米有天理啊！！睡得比周恩来晚，起得比周扒皮早。压力比周永康大，笑容比周杰
伦少。一年到头好不容易攒了两分钱，尼玛tax return都交回去了！！尼玛为什么没
有dependent就要多交税？！！明晃晃的歧视单身啊！！他们说，人家要养娃养狗养老
婆，很累很辛苦，需要被照顾。那姐靠自己养活自己，不伟大么？不光荣么？不正确么
？谁来照顾照顾姐啊？尼玛凭什么姐连娃他爹都米找到，就要出钱给别人养娃？而且谁
都知道单身更费钱啊 有木有？！！冬天费暖气，夏天费电扇啊 有木有？自己一个人
做饭 吃一半倒一半啊 有木有？买菜费油，住房费租，单身才需要各种补贴啊 有木
有？！！
每一个单身的人上辈子都是欠税的天使啊 有木有？！！伤不起啊伤不起～～ |

My point is US tax laws are well published, you can choose to live in
another country if you don't like it, and in fact, there are some coutries
do not have income tax.
The point is everyone have the right to choose to leave (at least for the
people currently live in US), if you choose to stay and knowing the law
ahead of time, you should not complaint (because that is your choice)

usually married people file jointly pays more than single people (if both
make about the same money, not the other way around) I am not even sure how

get a new bill passed if enough people agree with you.
But current tax laws (for that matter all laws) exist for a reason and
people already vote on it.

A big change in tax policy will change people's saving/spending habbit.
It is not so easy to make such a move like you wanted, no offence (but maybe
you did not take too many high level classes in economy).
The best way is to make a good policy and stick with it for long time.
Tax is not just for government to get money, it is also used in a way to
redistribute wealth in a society (among one of its many uses)
I don't want to start a big debate here, because that can go on for long
time and we will never get anywhere.
If you want flat tax without any deductions/credits, you can certainly read
more about it online, many people have argued both ways, but it is very
unlikely for it to become US tax policy in the near future.
Current tax policy and deductions/credits are carefully designed to
influence human behavior (not just as simple as a way to collect money) Many
decisions (both personal and business) are based tax policies, and some can
take years to benefit, a sudden change like you wanted will be very unfair
to the people that follow the laws and rules for years.
Just like I said, this is not the right forum to start a debate, maybe you
can post in tax board, I am sure there are more experts there.

I am only an average person and try to follow the rules set by 精英统治阶级,
the more I understand it, the more I find the current rules good and fair.
But if your idea is truely good and lots of people like it, you can be voted
into 精英统治阶级 in this country, don't give up. I have met several people
going from nobody to somebody in this country.

提供吃住，可以按年龄分类到政府设置的地方，老人小孩待遇相对好点，健康的成年人

不是idea本身的问题，问题是民主党的选民base里穷人很多，他们当然不喜欢这样的
idea,他们当然希望好的福利，有food stamp，住政府补贴的房子，还medicaid。。。
而且现在穷人越来越多，所以以后民主党胜选的几率会越来越多，穷人的话语权越来越
大，最后也经历了像欧洲那样的高福利社会，最终会把这个国家带领到破产的边缘，像
今天的没落欧洲。
