Bill would provide back pay for furloughed feds

The shutdown has just begun, but a bipartisan group of lawmakers from the
national capital area already are preparing legislation that would provide
back pay to furloughed federal employees, reports Government Executive.
The House bill is co-sponsored by Reps. Jim Moran (D-Va.) and Frank Wolf (R-
Va.). A dozen members of the House have backed the bill.
In the Senate, lawmakers from Maryland and Virginia are preparing companion
legislation, according to the report. |
