is an affirmation of the stereotypical impression of nerdy Chinese and Asian
men in the minds of his audience.
I can't help but contrast him with Russell Peters (Indian Canadian). Both
Joe and Russell are Asian, but Russell Peters' satirical jokes about Indians
in the end produce a likable image of an Indian man -- even when he
repeatedly jokes about Indian guys' smaller penis. Russell Peters is now a
Hollywood figure, having hosted large events and appeared in blockbuster
movies. I don't know where Joe Huang is going with his career. If he ever
makes it onto the silver screen, I am pretty sure it would be uncomfortable
for me to watch him.

can make a mediocre joke really funny. I remember the wirters of FRIENDS
once wanted to rewrite all of the lines for Chandler or even cancel this
role because they auditioned so many actors and felt that Chandler
was dead until they met Matthew Perry, and they find out that no line need
to be changed.
Joe has his style already. Just need to be more sophisticate in his acting.

我觉得这里很多拼命defend Joe Wong的人要么就是没怎么看过stand-up comedy要么就
是没办法就事论事。你可以喜欢任何一个演员，也许就是因为他跟你有相似背景，相似
长相，相似经历，你可以产生一些共鸣。但是这不能等于这个演员就一定是好演员。逻
辑不能说是：Joe Wong是中国大陆来的生物phd，他现在偶尔上上talk show，能在
comedy club做些秀====他就是一个nb的stand-up comedian。
你可以崇拜他走了一条可以说是“离经叛道”的Phd career track，也许你内心在“羡
慕嫉妒恨”原来我们这种理工wsn背景也能搞showbiz，但是拼命defend他的joke如何如

发帖数: 17256 | 78 能混上talk show host的都是已经混上去了的成功人士，我觉得都不怎么好笑。。。
又比如George Lopez，他的stand up很爽，他的那个standup 专场一出场台下老莫那叫
一个山呼海啸跟民族英雄似的。但他的talk show我觉得就嘉宾出来之前他自己一段独
角戏的时候好看。
相比起来jimmy kemmel可能还混得不够牛叉，所以还经常拿自己找乐，嘿嘿。conan也
有点，不过不和我胃口。
Ellen我看得很少，但觉得她人很赞。

第一，joe wong在美国肯定达不到 david letterman, jay leno, jerry Seinfield,
或者chris rock的那种高度，这没有什么可说的。
第二，大部分人喜欢他，就是觉得他的笑话好笑。他的很多笑话很冷，正话反说，自嘲
，出人意料 ，我就是喜欢这种风格，没有什么背景共鸣之说。而且都是原创，这个nb.
他的表演肯定还有进步的空间。
