I would never raft with that company she went with. I have rafted the New
and Gauley 15+ times in the past 7-8 years with another company and always
see that company purposely flipping boats ... and, the rumor is, they do
that all the time. Not saying that particular guide did, I wasn't there, but
that's their reputation. Yes, tragic accidents happen, boats flip, people
fall out, but it shocks me that purposely flipping a raft is fun to some

太惨了。
想起了我小时候学校里发生的一件惨事，一个学生考上了好
高中，高兴的跑到海边去玩，估计是玩high了，站在高处往
海里扎猛子，下去就没上来。等退潮了，才被人发现 -
脑袋卡在岩石缝里了。哎。惨啊。

I went rafting in west virginia too, and there was a guy who could not swim
and he fell into the water twice , and the guider picked him twice.
Apprently he was pretty frightened that time. You need to be aware there is
big chances falling into 急流或漩涡中during rafting. Sorry for the English,

说实话，
first timer 是强烈不建议去玩 Gauley River 的，级别太高
先从 New River 入手
我也参加过 Songer 公司的 rafting trip。船有点老，而且不会根据
人的经验来分配 raft，如果有落单几个人不能分到大艇上，他们也不管你
有没有经验以及够不够强壮，把人就放到小艇上。有的时候小艇因为没有足
够的重量和力量，几乎每个 level 3 以上的 rapids 都会被掀翻。

Songer company guides sometimes pick a raft and keep repeating
couple of rapids until the raft flips. In fact, they want to
avoid so called boringness to sell the video DVD as flipping
raft and everybody in the water are eyeball catching for
"survivors", which could also serve as a "Resume" saying I'm
brave.
