We made service request ourselves on 1/3/2011.We also sent letters to
Congressman and senators to help speed up our cases. Below is the letter we
used. It was based on a template from this board but made a few minor
modifications. Do not know which one helped, but we are glad that our cases
were approved and we received our green cards. Plan to send "thank you"
cards to those that we asked for help. Also thanks to many people on this
board for sharing, comforting and encouraging! Good luck to those who are

Dear Congressman:
I am writing for your assistance to speed up the processing of our I-485
petitions to Adjust Status (to obtain permanent residency in the U.S.) Our I
-485 petitions have been pending at the Nebraska Service Center of U.S.
Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for more than 3 years since we
submitted our petitions on xx, xxxx. The Nebraska Service Center is
currently processing I-485 petitions received by xxxx, 2010, so our cases
have been much delayed. We sent requests to USCIS to expedite the processing
of our cases, but we are still anxiously waiting for the approval of our
petitions.
My wife and I came to the U.S. in xxxx. Since then we have been studying and
working hard to fulfill our American dream of a wonderful life. We are both
very well educated professionals. I have a xxx degree in xxx and my wife
has a xxx degree in xxx. After graduation in xxx I joined xxxx as a xxxx
Engineer at xxx. We have been diligent workers and tax payers for many years
. I also have a great family with two precious children: a xxx-old xxx and a
xxx-old xxx. We live in a nice house in xxx and all love our community very
much. As we settled down and built our American dream, we also made great
effort to give back to our community by donating, volunteering and caring
for others. While other things are going well for us, the delay in
processing of our petitions for permanent residency has always worried us a
lot. There has always been an uncertainty about our future, which impacted
our decisions on career development and investment among many other things.
I visited your website and learned that you are doing very noticeable work
in representing the people in your district. Motivated by your great service
and achievement, I am writing for your assistance to speed up the
processing of our I-485 petitions. Your attention to our cases will help
