Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\system32\hal.dll.
Please re-install a copy of the above file.
my OS is Windows XP Home edition, pre-installed by Dell and there is no CD.
I have copied the file (hal.dll) to a flash disk, but don't know how to
install the file.
How do I installed this file??? The PC would not start in the first place at
all! Please help, thanks. |

the windows xp. I don't know whether they will send me one. the pc does not
even boot to safe mode, or anything at all. really don't know what to do
about it.

http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/NtfsDos.html
Mout C: drive with the NTFSDOS.
Then you can do whatever you want on the C: drive.

drag and drop, etc
