sure you can. you just need to share your modem on the desktop, if your
desktop runs w2k or wxp
then set the IP address of your desktop NIC as 192.168.0.1
and set your laptop IP as 192.168.0.whatever
set the default gateway of 192.168.0.1
But sharing modem....too slow ba.
