标 题: H1 non-resident 州税求助

今年下半年因为换工作搬到 Wisconsin 州，发现 Wisconsin州 非公民和绿卡的外国人
报税要求按non-resident。今天用TurboTax 报税，发现按照 non-resident 退一千多
，可是如果按 resident，要补交900 多。现在很疑惑，是不是算错了，怎么 non-
resident 还要多退呢？按理说应该resident退得更多吧？看到Wisconsin 版有朋友因
为错填了resident，多退税，现在要补交加利息，害怕填错呀！
有哪位朋友能帮忙解惑吗？

Full-year resident – A full-year resident is an individual who is domiciled
in Wisconsin for the entire taxable year.
Nonresident - A nonresident is an individual who is not domiciled in
Wisconsin for any part of the taxable year.
Part-year resident - A part-year resident is an individual who is domiciled
in Wisconsin for part of the taxable year

发帖数: 2070 | 4 你知道domicile什么意思吗？不是住在wi就算domiciled的， 不过他确实还是用1npr表
报税
• If you are a nonimmigrant (have not been granted immigrant
status by the federal government), you are considered a nonresident of
Wisconsin. Exception If you are a refugee or have
been granted asylum and you intend to remain permanently
in Wisconsin, you are considered a Wisconsin resident.
Example A foreign student in this country with an “F” visa
under the Immigration and Nationality Act may be classified
for federal tax purposes as a nonresident alien or as a resident
alien depending on his or her intended length of stay in this
country. Regardless of the student’s alien status, the student
maintains his or her domicile in his or her homeland. The
student is a nonresident of Wisconsin. A student with an “F”
visa cannot become domiciled in Wisconsin.

发帖数: 34 | 7 我也是H1去年下半年搬到wisconsin的，真没想到这里的税跟别的州都不一样。这样说
来，是不是联邦税还是按照resident的报，只是州税按照non-resident了？多谢指点
