especially technical writing. How anguish thing it is! In my last job
working for a <100 high tech company, I wrote four papers in less three
years. None reviewer had ever criticized my writing language. Boss was a
university boss before therefore may have high bars on variable reports. But
it is still too much for me. In the end, I was offered to take courses in
nearby universities and the company will pay all costs. |

employer for 3 years and during the performance review this year my boss
told me that I need to improve my communication skills particularly the writing
skill. the grade score I got this year is 3 which is one niche lower than
that of last year. she also asked me to attend a course in nearby university
or college which will be covered by the company.

enough to pay for improving your writing skills - even better.
Your writing skill may be sufficient for your current responsibilities, but
what if your responsibilities grow bigger in the future? Is it better to
polish your writing skills, if you are taking over your boss' responsibility
now?
I'd be happy to trade my 5/5 rating to your 4/5 rating plus the course you
are going to attend. My boss never mentioned any of |

发帖数: 1511 | 12 英语不错，比刚毕业的学生强很多，思路清楚，证据明确，在你的同事之间交流没问题。
但是如果你这篇东西给CIO看，就在以下方面有待提高：
1，不够简洁，如第一句和第二句。
2，太主观，如第二句。
3，语法错误。
关键问题：未领会老板精神。
老板是指你工资在本级别已经到头了，要升职就要提高写作，并出钱让你去学。你认识“much better than average.”就足够了。
问题根源：
start-up firm不注重communication，你可能直接向cio报告。
而你现在的老板可能要将你的报告给manager->director->vp->executive vp->cio。老板不敢把你的报告交上去啊，或者交了上去被大老板发现错误给批了，很没面子，大老板也知道你written communication不行，怎么能让你升职呢？
