新人想问问情况，我的公司hand book里有提到绿卡申请，但不是一定的，所以我想问
问大家如果在一个公司呆了4,5年，公司还不给你办绿卡，是不是要么辞职，要么就要
回国啊，可以新找一个公司不走h1b transfer，重新申请一个3年的新h1b吗？

ask them the policy the first day when you join the firm. If they don't
start yours after one year, or not a firm date, quit the company.

绿卡申请不能晚于H-1B第五年结束前，不然H-1B不能延期到6年以后。

when it's your 4th year in company and H1, company still not promise to
start PERM, you should find another job and switch. The four years of
working in this company will count for the PERM experience purpose. But if
you cannot find other job, you have no choice but stay with this company and
wait for getting fired at the end of H1 limit.

make sure your manager understands H1 green card stuff. educate him if he
doesnt. if you cant file perm in time, you cant continue work for him soon
. he will decide that whether you are worth it. dont wait for others to
talk to you about this, because many Americans dont have any idea about
green card process.

看来经济还是很差，工作依然不好找啊。正常的原则是，如果一个公司不能承诺在工作
一年后就开始绿卡申请，还是不去的好。

Not true, In best situation Perm takes about 6 month from preparing to
filing, 140 premium, you can get 140 approved really quick. Then you can
extend h1b for 3 years.

PERM takes so long now.
My petition was approved in 10 days.
That was 2010/12.
Probably more applications now, correct?
