Junior Application Dev (Midtown East)
HANGAR UNDERGROUND is a digital media analytics company, providing software
and decision services. We are looking for a junior engineer to help develop
and build out our collective vision.
The products are technically challenging and require a range of skill-
sets, ranging from complex modeling to data-driven collaboration tools,
intuitive user interfaces to cutting-edge decision structures
Work directly with the management team, helping to create and implement
the technology that enables our vision
We are looking for a team member who strives for excellence with their
coding but who also wants a chance to expand their contributions and play a
crucial role at a fast-moving company.
Skills / Experience
BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent
experience
2 years of experience in object-oriented programming languages such as C
++/Java ideally Python.
Familiar with data structures and algorithms
Experience using Eclipse as the main IDE
Relational database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle
Unix/Linux environment
Familiar with version control systems (ideally github; svn/cvs ok.)
Desire to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and team-oriented startup
environment
Nice to have
Front-end AJAX development experience in jQuery, JavaScript and HTML
Compensation
60k -- 80k depends on experience.
This is a full-time position, not contract.

BS in computer science, graphic design, or related field, or significant
equivalent experience
2 years of experience in designing and deploying web applications
Basic graphic design skills, i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks or
similar
Front-end AJAX development experience in jQuery and JavaScript.
Web page development skills in cross-browser HTML/XHTML, DOM, and CSS
Experience with one or more of the common Python web frameworks, ideally
Django.
Familiar with version control systems (ideally github; svn/cvs ok.)

Unix/Linux environment
Desire to work in a creative, collaborative, and fast-paced startup
