commodity IT java programmer analyst position located in Houston TX
Commodities IT is seeding a java programmer analyst to help design, develop,
and maintain existing in-house portal
and data warehouse platforms used across numerous commodities and regions.
Responsibilities:
1.develop java portlets for in-house commodities portal used by 350+ global
commodities users
2.participate in technical discussion /brainstorming sessions and define
ideas and strategies to enhance core
platform
Assist with architecture/scalability/enhancements to 7TB oracle backend data
warehouse
perform business analysis functions across applications
consult with the business clients to determine system functional
specitications
develop interfaces to numerous other systems such as risk management system
partner with multiple commodities teams to ensure appropriate integration of
functions to meet goals;
identifies and defines necessary system enhancements to deploy new products
and process enhancements
perform level 3 troubleshooting of application issues
gain exposure to commodity trading business and technologies
requirements
1.minimum 2-5 years of technology development experience using java/j2ee
technologies
bachelor's degree or equivalent is a must, post graduate degree ie master is
a plus
demonstrate strong knowledge in one or more development languages/approaches
strong oracle sql knowledge,experience workign with stored procedure and pl/
sql a plus
expereience with linux/unix ksh/csh scripting and other tools
able to identify issues,impacts and implications of events to a project and
recommend alternatives to resolve issues
assume hands-on project implementation duties(design,coding,testing) in all
phasees of project implementation
ability to carry out administrative responsibilites such as weekly status
meetings and weekly status reports
broad knowledge of IT functions and SDLC
strong client-facing skills including good written and oral communication
skikll a must
experience in commodities trading enviroment a plus
ability to work within a project team
excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills | m*****6
