Responsibilities
Ø Initiate and direct design and synthesis of bioactive small molecules
for drug discovery programs
Ø Direct involvement of experiments in the chemistry laboratory
Ø Progress medicinal chemistry program through in-depth structural
activity/property relationship analysis, and structural-guided drug design
Ø Execute hypothesis driven compound design and synthesis
Ø Monitor timeline and deliverable of projects, and drive program to
candidate selection or to decision point
Ø Extensive participation in project team, and cross functional
activities locally and globally
Requirements
Ø Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry and/or medicinal chemistry
Ø Minimal 10 years of drug discovery experience in a pharma and with
more than 5 years management experience
Ø Proven ability to move compound from discovery to candidate selection
highly preferred
Ø Experience in Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders is plus
Ø Expert knowledge in medicinal chemistry; extensive knowledge in
compound design to address potency, efficacy and ADMET issues |
