state media.
Xinhua news agency said 50 mine workers and nine residents were buried in
the accident, in an iron-ore mining area near the city of Chongqing.
China's mining industry has a poor safety record with thousands of deaths
reported every year.
The collapse of a dam holding back mine waste killed more than 250 people in
