发帖数: 6 | 2 Anyone? I read a lot of rdf/owl stuff and play around with the parsers, foaf,
etc. Now I want to do some deeper research on this topic.
Any high hand can tell us:
What computer science field exactly does semantic web belong to? data?
(database, data integration? data mining?)
What is the math base for such a field? some kind of algebra?

been a mainstream on database community and no one knows whether
it will be. If you search recent papers about this topic, most of
them appear on workshops or 2-tier conferences. My feeling is that
ontology is getting more applications on other fields, such as biology.
But the problem is whether RDF/OWL will be as popular as XML. It's
no clue. Another concern is that if too much knowledge inference is
introduced it becomes a tradit

发帖数: 154 | 4 RDF and ontoloy is not toy anymore, there are quite a few good application of
ontology in various areas. Semantic Web is not far from them, it has been a
general practice in intranet. There are papers on semantic web in many major
conferences in CS. The major event for Semantic Web is the International
Semantic Web Conference.
