Since a single synthetic peptide is usually not enough to induce an
immunogenic response, they often require an adjuvant. Adjuvants are
certain substances which have the ability to selectively modulate the immune
response to elicit humoral/cellular immune responses (18). An MHC class I
response usually appears in response to intracellular pathogens such as
virus, leading to CTLs (cytotoxic T lymphocytes). Such response is usually
